| Pro-5 Float Free Satellite Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) measures up with the IMO requirements for COSPAS-SARSAT system and is a mandatory item in the GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress Safety System). When a distress beacon is activated, it transmits a distress radio signal that is detectable by satellites. The beacon is brought into action automatically to transmit distress signal (position and identity) at depth of 4 meters or more. This equipment guarantees high-speed identification by means of the unique code of each beacon, positioning to within one nautical mile with short response time.
