F.A.Q. for SART Course
Question:
What is the difference between SART from AIS – SART?
Answer:
SART determines distress point location on marine-vehicle radar while AIS - SART indicates distress point on-screen or just displays coordinates on the AIS with no screen. If there’s no screen on the AIS the price will be higher because of the in-built GPS. According to the Marine Register requirements the GPS or the screen in the AIS is strictly recommended. However, there’s no strict Register recommendation according to the AIS-SART as plainly required vessel equipment.
